Our 3rd show for the 25-26 season at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre was the Musical Come from Away. A show about the flight that landed in Gander, Newfoundland during 9/11, our set is based off the art installation in the 9/11 museum called “Trying to Remember the Color of the Sky on That September Morning”.
This show consists of a large curved wall with many different sized pannels and light boxes for custom neon signs, a ground row of smaller panels, three large life-like trees, a CNC’d wood plank show floor and a flying map. I was responsible for the ground row, the trees and assisting in plating the curved wall flats.
We had about 6 weeks to build the set, 3 days to load in and one day to load out with a team of 6, including myself and the Technical Director.
